The work will be challenging, but always rewarding. It’s Work That Matters. Overview The Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health Program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles provides mental health services for children ages 0 5 and their families.

We provide treatment for young children who have experienced traumatic events, pediatric medical traumatic stress, symptoms such as dysregulated emotions / behaviors or anxiety / depression, and those with developmental delays / disabilities.

Interventions include strengthening family relationships, and Child-Parent Psychotherapy is a primary modality. The primary work setting is an outpatient clinic.

We are seeking a licensed psychologist with experience working with children ages birth to 5 years and their families. We prefer experience with young children with developmental delays and with medical conditions;

training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy; bilingual in Spanish and English; and endorsement as an Infant-Family Mental Health Specialist with the California Center for Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health.

Purpose Statement / Position Summary Provides mental health evaluation and treatment for children and families with a primary focus on ages birth through 5 years.

May provide psychological / developmental assessments as needed. May have opportunities to provide training of psychology students / trainees or community didactic presentations.

Minimum Qualifications / Work Experience Supervised professional experience providing therapy to children ages 0 5 is required.

Previous experience working with interdisciplinary providers is strongly preferred. Training in evidence-based practices including Child-Parent Psychotherapy is strongly preferred.

Experience conducting psychological and developmental assessments is preferred. Bilingual competence (Spanish / English) is strongly preferred.

Endorsement as an Infant-Family Mental Health Specialist is preferred. Education / Licensure / Certification Ph.D., Psy.

D., or Ed.D., in School, Counseling, or Clinical Psychology; require education from an APA-accredited program. License in psychology in California required.

00-$169,728.00 CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry.

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.
