Job Description : We are seeking passionate and dedicated Special Education Teachers to join our team. These positions encompass various levels within our school district, focusing on providing specialized support to students with diverse learning needs.
This is a full-time opportunity with multiple openings across different grade levels and specializations.
Positions Available :
Elementary Level :
- Autism / Social Communication : Provide specialized instruction and support to students with autism spectrum disorders or social communication needs.
- Behavior / Social-Emotional : Address behavioral and social-emotional challenges through targeted interventions and support.
- Resource / Learning Center (.5 FTE) : Support students in a resource or learning center environment, providing academic assistance and accommodations.
Middle School Level :
Behavior / Social-Emotional : Work with middle school students to address behavioral challenges and social-emotional development.
High School Level :
Functional / Life Skills x2 : Teach functional life skills curriculum to high school students with disabilities, preparing them for independent living and vocational success.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs and goals.
- Differentiate instruction and utilize evidence-based practices to support student learning and skill development.
- Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Implement behavior management strategies and interventions to promote a positive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and IEP goals.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field.
- State certification / licensure in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with disabilities in the specific areas listed (autism, behavior / social-emotional, resource / learning center, functional / life skills).
- Strong understanding of special education laws, IEP development, and best practices in special education.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
