Facilities Compliance/Ops Spec
Job Summary :
The Facilities Compliance Specialist is responsible for directing an ongoing department-wide collection of information required by local, state, and federal regulatory agencies;
analyzing the data collected, and actively seeking opportunities for improvement of the Environment of Care (EOC) program and facility-required maintenance.
The Compliance Specialist is also responsible for reporting on findings, recommendations, actions taken, and results of measurement to Facilities Management leadership and other appropriate leaders of the organization.
Required Qualifications :
Require an Associate’s degree. High school diploma or equivalent and relevant experience in Safety / Code Compliance operations in a healthcare setting can substitute on a year for year basis for required education.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Prefer five (5) years of experience with the Joint Commission standards related to the Environment of Care.
- Prefer knowledgeable of current regulatory agency standards of care including TJC, DOT, DEP, OSHA, AHCA, and NFPA.
- Prefer knowledgeable / experience in emergency preparedness related to terrorism, bio-terrorism, and other emergency situations.
- Prefer demonstrated knowledge of all local, state, and Federal regulations pertaining to regulated hazardous materials and waste including biohazardous waste.
- Prefer demonstrated experience in creating positive and collaborative relationships with local, county, and other emergency response and regulatory authorities.
- Prefer demonstrated proficiency with the use of personal computers and software programs as they relate to programs used are Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Visio, Adobe Acrobat, and research on Internet web sites
- Prefer demonstrated analytical, mentoring and teaching skills.
- Prefer demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to work with multiple trade disciplines and tasks.
