C# Software Engineer / Transformation (Finance Exp)

Location : Onsite 5 days per week in Clayton, Missouri

Salary : $120K- $125K Base Salary plus Bonus

Must Haves :

• Must be able to work onsite 5 days per week in Clayton, Missouri
• Must be able to reshape and dig into what systems are currently being utilized and see how systems can be made more efficient
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial services industry, specifically investment management / consulting
• Detailed understanding of generally accepted software development methodologies, tools, and techniques that align with the current technology stack
• SQL Server

Job Functions :

• Document the current state of systems, processes, and users
• Derive strategy and roadmap to identify advancements in the platform through modern technologies and processes
• Work with business representatives to understand business needs and / or limitations and resulting requirements; identify gaps in requirements for business representatives and ensure requirements are complete before moving on to the specs phase
• Develop detailed specs for enhancements or modules of new systems that are clearly aligned to system requirements as defined by business representatives and can be easily interpreted by the business representatives and other engineers
• Work with business representatives to understand outcomes of the testing phase; identify solutions to resolve issues
• Interact with team members (Business Representatives, Managers, other Software Engineers, and users) as needed to ensure successful delivery, implementation, and release of enhancements or other projects
• Manage the backlog of work items
• Develop and support applications that provide essential solutions for clients; will include debugging current systems or programming enhancements or modules of new systems
• Take ownership of the assigned portion of the project from start to finish to ensure successful implementation
• Maintain system-wide tests to improve products, services, and processes continually
• Implement systems software engineering policies and procedures and implement software development industry best practices
• Apply compliance requirements within the scope of responsibility, provide documentation as necessary, and participate in compliance activities as required
• Monitor and manage external data feeds

Preferred Qualifications :

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial services industry, specifically investment management / consulting
• Source code control (TFS / Git)
• Unit testing (nUnit or similar framework)
• SQL Server Integration Services
• Team player attitude, good interpersonal skills
• Good organizational skills and superior problem-solving ability
• Demonstrate sound logic and judgment
• Creative / Innovative approach to projects
• Scrum / agile development
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Basic Qualifications :

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• Must possess a BA / BS degree
• Detailed understanding of generally accepted software development methodologies, tools, and techniques that align with the current technology stack :
• Object-oriented design principles
• SQL Server / T-SQL
• Knowledge and interest in technologies that align with future architectures :
• Cloud technologies
• Modern Data Platform architectures
