About the Position
The IT System Administrator is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's IT environment, including hardware, software, and networking systems.
The role also includes incident and change management, network monitoring, and supporting employee on- and off-boarding processes.
To succeed in this position, candidates should have at least two years of experience in system administration or a similar role.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. Technical expertise in network management, system security, and a variety of operating systems is required.
Problem-solving abilities and customer service skills are also important for this role, and relevant certifications will be considered advantageous.
Primary Responsibilities
- Administer IT environment - workstations, printers, servers, wireless APs, software installation, inventory management, updates, patches, etc.
- Administer office networks and connectivity, security updates, and patches.
- Administer Microsoft Windows servers - installation, configuration, upgrade, patching, etc.
- Manage Windows and MacOS and device deployment by MDM solutions.
- Manage user and service accounts and permissions.
- Maintaining system administration documentation and systems based on best practices.
- Observe and enforce group IT guidelines and IT standard operating procedures.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve problems.
- Follow best practices and strategies for application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
- Perform Incident Management - troubleshooting and resolving incidents.
- Perform Change Management - planning and implementing changes.
- Monitor and manage network, systems, and services health.
- Monitoring of infrastructure components and application performance.
- Manage and handle logistics for IT equipment.
- Support the IT aspects of employee on- and off-boarding processes.
- Follow up on ticket requests and escalate as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related Information Technology discipline
- 2 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or similar position.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and under tight deadlines.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience with MS Endpoint Manager (Intune).
- Experience with networks, routing, and managing ISPs.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows servers and MacOS.
- Experience with managing (Azure) Active Directory.
- Experience with AD, DNS, ADFS, Office 365.
- Experience with VPN and Firewall technology.
- Experience with Exchange and SharePoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Atlassian products (Jira Service Management).
- Virtualization certificates.
- Windows Server certificates.
- Network infrastructure certificates.
- ITIL certificates.
- Other IT-related certificates.
