Chemical & Alcohol Dependency Counselor

$1,500.00 Sign-On Bonus Offered to Full-Time Therapist

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Chemical & Alcohol Dependency Counselor!

The Chemical & Alcohol Dependency Counselor is responsible for providing direct patient care, in compliance with The Joint Commission and CMS standards of care and for patients under circumstances of chemical dependency, substance abuse or addictions.

Performs social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their bio-psychosocial needs while enabling them to access therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, completing specialized clinical social work services for patients / families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, and providing information and referrals as needed.

Ridgeview Institute has been a staple in the state of Georgia and nationwide for the treatment of both addiction and behavioral health for over 40 years.

We provide a comprehensive continuum of mental health and substance abuse treatment services based upon a commitment to excellence and quality care to patients and their loved ones.

Located on a 37-acre wooded campus in the city of Smyrna, GA on the outskirts of Atlanta, Ridgeview Institute provides a safe, caring environment with Psychiatrists, Nurses, Social Workers, Counselors, Activity Therapists and Mental Health Technicians.

Treatment services include inpatient and outpatient services and aftercare.

MSW, APC, LPC and LCSW preferred.

Experience : A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills;

and have strong clinical assessment skills preferred.Experience and expertise in dual diagnosis, 12-step programs and substance abuse

License : Must possess a Georgia State license in social work or clinical related mental health field.Also, Master’s License in Social Work or Counseling preferred.

Additional Requirements : CPR / First Aid and CPI Training. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
