Under the direction of the Director(s), the Educator orients, guides, directs, teaches, evaluates and counsels unit staff in providing professional care and complying with Policy and Procedure.
She / he acts as a clinical educator implementing the nursing practice model, nursing process and provides direct patient care as needed.
Participates in providing educational programs and activities for BHU and Recovery Center staff to enhance the delivery of care utilizing evidence-based practice.
Works in collaboration with Program Directors and Nursing Manager to ensure compliance with Joint Commission, NYS OASAS, NYS OMH and NYS DOH regulations.
Responsible for medical record review to determine regulatory compliance. Advises Nurse Manager and Directors of any clinical opportunities for improvement on a regular basis.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science in Nursing or currently enrolled, Masters degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years Psych experience. National Certification in area of expertise preferred.
Current New York State License as a Registered Nurse. BLS. Membership in a professional organization preferred. Attendance at continuing education programs.
