Payroll Analyst Detroit, MI Contract
Walker Healthforce is seeking a Payroll Analyst for a healthcare client located in Detroit, MI. This is a contract opportunity.

JOB SUMMARY
- Prepares and balances payroll-related wires for both bi-weekly and weekly pay runs, ensuring deadlines for all company business units and affiliates are met.
- Serves as liaison between Accounts Payable, Tax, Audit, and other accounting departments, troubleshooting and correcting out-of-balance conditions.
- Runs ad-hoc reports to identify and correct general ledger issues or for management review.
- Verifies and balances deduction files before sending to an outside vendor for distribution.
- Reconciles outstanding checks and handles escheat processing with Accounting and Audit.
- Determines payroll liabilities, remits taxes, and prepares reports, including unemployment, tax payments, and W2s.
- Reviews loan agreements, sets up loan forgiveness in PeopleSoft, and handles employee inquiries.
- Contacts Corporate Legal for loan defaults and manages collection-related functions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with spreadsheets.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Management
- 2 years' experience in accounting
- Knowledge of accounting terminology and methods, standard office procedures.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
- Knowledge of federal and state statutes and regulations related to payroll and tax reporting
