Your new role

Due to our significant growth, we are expanding our investment capabilities in New York, focusing on Infrastructure, Property, Private Debt and Private Equity.

The Private Credit global portfolio is US$5 billion and comprised primarily of asset-backed loans (predominately across North America, UK and Europe).

Our specialist global team has deep real asset lending experience and is focused on opportunities in real estate and infrastructure sectors, as well as a US middle market strategy focused on lending to private equity sponsored corporates.

We are able to invest in large scale and / or complex opportunities across the full range of credit instruments, including subordinated or mezzanine positions and construction.

We have the flexibility to offer tailored capital solutions that are not subject to typical mandate constraints.

By joining our team in New York, you will take a key role in the implementation of AustralianSuper's Private Credit strategy in North America focused primarily on Infrastructure debt by taking responsibility for transacting new investment opportunities and ongoing loan investment management.

The role encompasses :

• Sourcing and originating new private credit investment opportunities that meet the Private Credit strategy and managing execution of these new opportunities.
• Ensuring asset management oversight for portfolio loan investments.
• Participating in the team recruitment and development of junior team members.
• Assisting in the effective execution of the Private Credit strategy.
• Providing support across the broader portfolio strategies.

This role is based on-site at 1251 Avenues of the Americas, with a hybrid work schedule.

What you'll need

Culture is key at AustralianSuper and we are looking for someone who is a team player that enjoys working in a high performing collaborative team.

• Significant experience (10+ years) in credit assessment in a banking, finance or a credit funds management role.
• Significant experience (8+ years) in Infrastructure lending.
• Proven ability to lead loan transaction execution and loan investment management functions within the North American market.
• Experience in identifying key investment issues with the ability to individually evaluate and effectively communicate them within the team and to approval committees.
• Excellent and succinct writing skills, especially experience preparing investment papers for approval committees.
• Strong quantitative financial modelling skills and advanced Excel.
• Leadership and mentoring skills.

Pay transparency notice

The salary range for this position is $430,000 to $480,000 plus discretionary bonus (this is based on full-time hours, located in New York City).

The base pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience and refers to the amount AustralianSuper is willing to pay at the time of posting.
