Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a client in the manufacturing industry that is looking to hire a Buyer / Planner in their plant in Schiller Park, IL! This is a great opportunity for new-grads and entry-level candidates to enter a company that is in a growth phase, loves to promote from within, and to learn from top supply chain / operations professionals.

Responsibilities :

This role involves responsibility for purchasing (placing orders, following up, resolving problems with quality / pricing / delivery, developing strong vendor relations, managing costs and price variances, pushing out orders to improve cashflow, etc) and planning (releasing jobs, analyzing capacity, managing sub-processes with outside vendors, collaborating with production personnel to resolve job-completion issues or inventory issues, reviewing shortages and projecting future completion dates).

Hiring Manager Must Have’s :

• Bachelor’s degree Mike has found success with those with an engineering degree, but a supply chain / business related degree would also work! The next best would be a degree in science or research related since this position is data heavy & analytical.
• 0-3 years of experience this is a more junior search and Mike likes to train folks up and show them the ropes.
• His team have come from backgrounds like project management, sales, engineering positions who were unhappy in their role and felt like they were being underutilized.

Preferred :

• Someone who is self-motivated and a problem solver. There were will issues that arise within the team, with other departments and even vendors that this person will be responsible for figuring out.
• Data driven and good with analyzing raw data and displaying trends in excel.
• Experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Supply chain internship or operations or buyer or planner would be nice
