Description
CMA :
- Experience in a medical office setting.
- Must understand, courteous and professional at all times incontacts with patients, visitors, employees, and medicalstaff.
- Assist Doctor with patients.
- Demonstrate knowledge in a medical office.
- Anticipatedoctor’s needs for each patient based upon patient complaints andtreatment plan / guidelines.
- Verify that patientresults, x-rays, labs and procedure reports are in patient chartsprior to seeing doctor.
- Gather patient’s vitals andcomplaints, document in patient medical record.
- Chartaccurately and legibly to include lab results.
- Facilitate physician and patient communications.
- Complete lab requisition forms and assure that specimens are sentto correct labs per patient insurance contract.
- Maintain and monitor exam room and procedure room supplies andinstruments.
- Clean and sterilize instruments inaccordance to OSHA Regulations. Clean autoclave as required.
- Complete clinical portions of chart preparation.
- Schedule surgery and give patient appropriate instructionsprior to surgery and refer to Front Office Coordinator or OfficeManager for insurance authorization.
- Provide backupsurgery scheduling.
LPN :
- Performs patient care responsibilitiesconsidering needs specific to the standard of care for patientsage.
- Demonstrates ability under directsupervision of an RN, to perform a head-to-toe assessment on allpatients and reassessments as per policy.
This includes pediatric,geriatric and general patient population.
- Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizesappropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient andfamily regarding pain management.
- Demonstratesknowledge of medications and their correct administration based onage of the patient and patient’s clinical condition.
- Follows the five medication rights and reduces thepotential for medication errors.
- Demonstratesability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient’sresponse to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily foreffectiveness.
- Formulates a teaching planbased on identified patient learning needs and evaluateseffectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching asappropriate.
- Demonstrates an ability to assistphysicians with procedures and performs services requiringtechnical and manual skills under the direction of anRN.
- Treats patients and their families withrespect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial,cultural, ethnic and religious / spiritual needs of patients andtheir families
- Interacts professionally withpatient / family and involves patient / family in the formation of theplan of care.
RN :
- Promotes positive public relations for thedepartment and the hospital by presenting self in a professionalmanner; assisting in community service programs, asrequested.
- Ability to problem solvepatient / family issues to a positive conclusion for allinvolved.
- Demonstrates communication skillsnecessary to interact with persons of varying age and / or cultures.Displays a positive attitude at all times.
- Develops and maintains good relationships withco-workers, other department staff and physicians Nodisruptions.
- Practices5 rights of medication administration.
- Demonstrates efficient time management skills to maximizeproductivity.
