Position Summary :
The Staff Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position plays a key role in supporting the month-end close process, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and analysis. The role also involves maintaining the general ledger, ensuring data integrity, and assisting with ongoing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.

Location : Hybrid Toledo, Ohio1-2 days in office / week with occasional travelEssential Duties and Responsibilities :
Lead the analysis and review of Franchisee commission calculations to ensure accuracy, compliance with agreements, and timely processing.Run Concur reports, prepare accruals, and maintain the reconciliation process.Reconcile cash, verify deposits, and resolve discrepancies or inquiries with banking partners.Reconcile balance sheet reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and document resolutions on a periodic, quarterly, and yearly basis.Research and resolve accounting issues; provide analysis and feedback to management regarding financial results and variances.Assist in the monthly financial close process, including the preparation, review, and posting of standard, correcting, and accrual journal entries.Assist in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, ensuring transactions are properly recorded and classified.Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.Identify, recommend, and assist in implementing process improvements to strengthen internal controls, streamline workflows, and enhance overall accounting efficiency.Support the implementation and integration of the new accounting systems (NetSuite) and other software solutions.The essential duties and responsibilities described above are not a comprehensive list. Education and / or Work Experience Requirements :
Minimum : Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.2+ Years of Experience with Journal Entries, reconciliations, accruals, monthly closing, running and analyzing reports.2+ Years of Experience with Oracle (NetSuite) ERP or similarExperience with Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with Great Plains Software / Microsoft Dynamics GPPreferred : QSR, Manufacturing or Non-Profit Accounting Experience.ERP Implementation ExperienceCritical Competencies :
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, including in a remote or hybrid work environment.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.Detail-oriented, efficient, and able to manage time effectively.Understanding of and the ability to adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Demonstrates ability to complete assignments accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision.Ability to use modern accounting software systems such as Oracle (NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.Professional presence and confidence in communicating with team members, management, and external partners.Proven ability to prioritize workload, adapt to changing business needs, and manage competing demands.Why Join Marco's?
