Job Summary

The Program Manager is responsible for working with others to develop course curricula and manage webinars and trainings.

  • Training tasks include : working under the Director of Education and with Deputy Director and Medical Director, course development and design;
  • review and edit of all course documents; recruiting and guiding content experts with their presentations; writing comprehensive course objectives;
  • developing and implementing needs assessment activities / evaluation plans for courses and enduring materials; managing printing and distribution of enduring educational material;

and assisting Deputy Director with maintaining CME accreditation. Also serves as a liaison between the Center and course participants and affiliated programs.

This position also assists with the analysis of course and product evaluation data and, using this information, assists in determining training needs and guiding changes to curricula in association with the CME Committee, as well as working on the management of CITC mini-fellowships.

  • Warmline consultation tasks include : primary responsibility for the accurate and timely documentation of all consultations in the ID Crowd database;
  • preparing the quarterly warmline schedule and managing schedule changes; preparing and sending weekly communications; supporting warmline faculty and clients as needed with technical support;

triage incoming warmline requests and provide oversight of response timeliness, need for longitudinal support, presence of PHI or other special circumstances.

Also provides training and technical assistance to consultants, clients, and staff. This position assists with the reporting of Warmline data and evaluation of the Warmline service and is responsible for working with the CITC and TB COE team on ID Crowd quality assurance.

Department Description

The mission of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG) is to provide comprehensive medical care for the community, to develop innovative research aimed at elucidating basic mechanisms of disease, and to translate its research activities into both new clinical initiatives and a rich training environment for the next generation of academic physician scientists.

The Curry International Tuberculosis Center (CITC) is one of four Tuberculosis Centers of Excellence (TB COE) in the US and is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The COE's enhance tuberculosis control capacity, and train TB service providers regionally and nationally.

The Curry International Tuberculosis is a unit within the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at ZSFG. This center was established and first funded in 1994.

While originally funded to assist domestic programs and providers, the CITC has expanded their capacity and now also provides technical assistance internationally.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and one or more relevant experience and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills. Ability to generate computer reports, checking for errors, correcting and submitting accurate reports.

Skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronic systems. Familiarity with the use of qualitative evaluation methods.

  • Project management experience. Ability to multi-task.
  • Public speaking skills. Must be able and willing to represent and present on behalf of the Center.
  • Communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Service-oriented and responsive to questions and requests.

Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within UCSF as well as organizations outside of UCSF.
  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars / schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and to operate with considerable autonomy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in public health, health education, or in a related area and / or equivalent professional experience
  • Knowledge of educational technology and systems. Ability to troubleshoot and triages related technology issues. Experience working in public health.
  • Working knowledge of tuberculosis care and management.
