Work alongside Senior Manager, Lottery Accounting to oversee the accounting and financial reporting responsibilities for U.
S. Lottery business units (Instant Products, Licensing & Loyalty, Lottery Systems, iLottery) and U.S. capital projects and fixed assets.
Position provides support to internal finance management and business unit operations for U.S. Lottery business units. Direct the related activities of hands-on accounting team based in Bangalore, who will perform all financial close activities, balance sheet account reconciliations, preparation of internal and external financial reporting, and who will be responsible for ensuring accuracy of specified general ledger accounts.
- Complete general ledger responsibilities for U.S. Lottery business units and management of day-to-day accounting functions in the department
- Coordination of activities related to monthly closings and other finance-related activities between hands-on accounting team based in Bangalore, Finance team, AP / AR teams, and business partners
- Be a key driver of company’s standardization, use, and continual improvement of business processes
- Manage the monthly, quarterly and yearly financial accounting close processes to meet scheduled deadlines for internal and external reporting requirements
- Coordinate and provide assistance to internal and external auditors related to periodic operational, SOX, and financial audits
- Establish accounting policies and procedures to ensure all financial transactions are controlled, executed, and documented according to corporate accounting policy and generally accepted accounting principles
- Support review and sign-off / approval of team’s work (GL account reconciliations, reports, etc.)
- Collaborate with business unit Finance personnel on annual budget and periodic forecast preparation
- Special projects as deemed necessary by senior management
Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge
Required
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting or equivalent
- 4-8 years of progressive staff to senior-level accounting experience
- Strong organizational, problem solving and project management skills
- Thorough knowledge of accounting, auditing and internal controls standard practices
- High commitment to punctuality and accuracy
- Ability to work through various levels of an organization
- Intermediate-level (or better) skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Desired
- Hands-on user experience with mainstream financial information systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, etc.) is a strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience with Blackline and Hyperion (Financial Management and Planning) tools is highly desirable
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
- CPA highly desirable
