Safety Manager

We are committed to excellence and safety in every aspect of our operations. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Safety Manager to join our team and ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance across our operations.
This position will require over 50% travel.
Responsibilities :
At Coastal Waste & Recycling, safety is a core value, and the Safety Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that all employees return home safely each night.
As a Safety Manager, you will be responsible for :
Accident and Incident Investigation : Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Training and Coaching : Coach and train district managers, supervisors, and frontline employees on injury and accident prevention.
Provide training and support to management and behind-the-wheel instructors to ensure the effectiveness of the new hire program according to company guidelines.
Safety Observations : Guide and train supervisors in performing thorough and effective safety observations.
Program Support : Equip managers and supervisors with the tools and training needed for successful implementation of company safety programs and initiatives.
Task Monitoring : Oversee the completion of corporate safety-related tasks to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
Acquisition Integration : Support the integration of new acquisitions with a focus on Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) functions.
Operational Collaboration : Work closely with operations to ensure adherence to the company’s health and safety programs across all locations in Northern FL, GA, and SC.
Qualifications :
Experience : Proven experience as a Safety Manager with a strong emphasis on root cause analysis. Experience in the transportation industry is highly preferred.
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience Level : Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety management, ideally within the waste management industry.
License : Valid driver’s license is required.
