We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team in the Wholesale Distribution industry, located in Lynwood, California.
This role involves the meticulous management of customer accounts, the processing of credit applications, and the efficient resolution of customer inquiries, among other responsibilities.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of journal entries, ensuring the accuracy of debits and credits.
- Conduct reconciliations of payroll registers and perform variance analysis.
- Assist in accrual accounting to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with various accounting departments to enhance team efficiency.
- Identify and resolve complex accounting issues, maintaining confidentiality of internal information.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects as required, providing analytical support and insights.
- Utilize advanced Excel skills (formulas, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data manipulation) to streamline processes and enhance reporting.
- Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action.
- Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate customer credit records.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the wholesale distribution industry
- Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Experience with Bank Reconciliations and General Ledger
- Ability to prepare and post Journal Entries
- Experience with Month End Close procedures
- Proficiency in using NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
