Summary

The Integration Architect will be responsible for managing the design, development, modification and maintenance of our enterprise data platform.

This senior technical role is expected to be hands-on in providing functional / technical support for multiple projects, leading design of clinical and business enterprise models, both significant in scope and impact throughout the organization.

The Integration Architect will contribute and execute the organizations data management strategy and serve as a lead for developers and data engineers.

The individual will be a strong and integral part of an overall technical team responsible for the successful implementations of state-of-the-art data platforms and enterprise data models.

This position will have a significant role in orchestrating good design and development for the data engineering team.

Responsibilities

Be responsible for leading developers and data engineers who will be developing pipelines for raw, curated and consumption level data models.

Be responsible for organizing all data modeling and development work in order to create standards and ensure best practices are applied.

Develops specifications and requirements for data processing systems to include system narratives, data elements, data gathering and verification techniques and methods, auditing controls, flow charts, decision tables, input-output requirements, record and form layouts and design specifications.

Leverages enterprise ETL / ELT tools to curate and transform data from various clinical and business applications. Architects, designs, manages, implements, builds, and supports Jackson Health System's data warehouse exchange architecture.

Provides project management, development, and implementation leadership for all JHS data integration functions, as directed by IT Leadership to support the organizational mission and strategic plan of the Jackson Health System (JHS).

Provides analysis, diagnosis, monitoring, implementation, testing, upgrades / updates, maintenance, documentation, inventory, change management, security, audits and back-ups as outlined by management, to support the strategic information access requirements of the JHS and its subsidiaries.

Assists the director and manager in the management and direction setting for the enterprise's integration group including setting priorities, coordinating, and the reporting of group activities.

Including mentoring staff, promoting teamwork and data sharing that enhances the organization. Assumes responsibility for collaborating with customers to gather requirements needed for data modeling and transformations.

Ensures that all data practices are using industry standards. As new standards arise the incumbent must ensure that we are prepared to handle them and keep best practices applied at all times.

Helps to implement integrated corporate and departmental objectives and ensures the department meets these objectives in a way that exceeds the JHS and customer expectations.

Maintain, support and troubleshoot any data platform related issues when it comes to business and clinical systems. Ensures reliability of cross-enterprise applications.

Identifies risk and develops strategies to minimize or mitigate issues. Works with the management to ensure that all JHS standards and requirements are being adhered to.

Follows and enforces all operational policies and procedures. Provides management with feedback to assist in improving the efficiency of providing services to our customers, externally as well as within the department.

Maintains up-to-date knowledge; researchs, evaluates, and recommends emerging tools and system technologies to support business requirements.

Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience

Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience. Experience with cloud based data platforms, such as Snowflake is strongly preferred.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.

Skill

Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions.

Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.

Credentials

Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.

Working Conditions

Physical Requirements - Job function is sedentary in nature and requires sitting for extended periods of time. Function may require frequent standing or walking.

Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Jobs in this group are required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as : extended use of computers, preparing and analyzing data and analytics, and other components of a typical office environment.

Environmental Conditions - Jobs in this group are required to function in a fast paced environment with occasional high pressure or emergent and stressful situations.

Function is subject to inside environmental conditions, with occasional outdoor exposures. Possible exposure to various environments such as : communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a hospital and medical office environment.

May wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves or a mask when exposed to hospital environment outside of office.
