Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a VDI Systems Administrator SME for our US Courts proposal. This position will be located in San Antonio, TX.

The ideal candidate is responsible for server operations inclusive of hardware, operating system (OS), and utilities on the server.

Responsible for server operations inclusive of hardware, operating system (OS), and utilities on the server. Has expertise in one or more operating systems and is responsible for support functions such as planning / deploying / maintaining / supporting servers such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Windows, database system.

backup system, and the application stack. Assists with restorations, application installation, testing, Tier 2 and Tier 3 support, and troubleshooting issues.

Provides migrations, performance tuning, analysis and support of infrastructure, and internal hardware. Provides configuration management and system monitoring.

Responsible for centralization of courts and replication, and provisioning virtual servers and service management of all related Virtual Machines (VMs).

Provides monitoring of databases, and supporting the Infrastructure environment. Analyzes and fixes performance issues related to networking and OS and provides application upgrades.

Responsible for configuration management, monitoring, and maintenance of all hosted servers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's with 8+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

  • Extensive knowledge in specialized functions. A wide and comprehensive understanding of, both general and specific aspects of the job and its application.
  • Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Work is performed without discernible direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment. May supervise others.
  • Effects of decisions are long lasting and heavily influence the future course of the Company. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would result in the expenditure of large amounts of resources.
  • Virtual Desktop Administration (desired : VMware Horizon View)
  • Application installation, support, testing, and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated effective Project Management experience
  • Virtual software provisioning skills (desired : VMware vCioud Director)
  • Windows Desktop Administration Skills (desired : Microsoft 7, Windows 8.x)
  • Deployment & Configuration Automation Experience
  • Virtualization Infrastructure Experience (desired : VMware vSphere)
  • DB Administration Experience
  • Backup and Restore Experience (desired : NetBackup)
  • System Monitoring Experience (desired : Zabbix)
  • Clearance Required : Must be able to obtain / maintain Public Trust
