Job Description :
As a line cook, you will be an integral part of our kitchen, responsible for preparing high-quality dishes and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
Your role will include :
- Food Preparation : Prepare and cook menu items to the highest standards, following recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Cleaning and Organization : Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including routine cleaning of equipment and ensuring proper hygiene practices.
- Equipment Maintenance : Perform regular equipment checks, including temperature checks and gasket inspections, and keep kitchen tools and appliances in optimal condition.
- Station Management : Set up and break down your station efficiently at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Menu Knowledge : Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the menu and ingredients to ensure accurate preparation and presentation.
- Communication : Maintain clear and effective communication with management and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and address any issues promptly.
- Cross-Training : Be adaptable and willing to cross-train and work in multiple kitchen positions as needed.
- Labeling and Stocking : Properly label, stock, and rotate ingredients to ensure freshness and compliance with food safety standards.
- Health and Safety : Adhere to all health and safety rules in the kitchen, including nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
- Urgency and Purpose : Work with a sense of urgency and purpose to ensure timely and efficient service.
Requirements
Qualifications :
- Prior experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Ability to handle and clean dishes and kitchen equipment efficiently
- Knowledge of safety practices related to handling chemicals and maintaining cleanliness
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
Skills / Abilities :
- Must be 18+ years of age
- Must successfully obtain Food Handlers credentials
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to follow directions and procedures
- Basic cooking knowledge a plus
- Must excel in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team
