Job Summary :
Civic Solutions, Inc. has immediate openings for full-time professional urban planners at assistant, associate and senior levels.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys working with a team, can work independently under general direction, has at least six months of professional planning experience in California, and possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities :
- Provide planning and zoning information to the public at public counters, and via email.
- Manage zoning entitlement applications.
- Prepare project review letters, notices, staff reports, and make public presentations.
- Analyze and prepare materials in support of zoning updates, general plan amendments, specific plans, community plans, and housing elements.
- Work efficiently on multiple projects under the supervision of a project manager, and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Interpret and apply applicable government codes, ordinances and regulations.
Required Experience / Skills / Education
Minimum Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or City Planning or a closely related field
- At least six months of professional planning experience in municipal planning and / or consulting
- Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications :
- Two or more years municipal planning experience in current or advance planning, or both
- Master’s degree in Urban and Regional / City Planning or closely related field
- Adobe, InDesign, GIS
- AICP
