We are looking for a Maintenance Technician in the Portland area to be in charge of all electrical and mechanical components of semi-automated parking system installations.
You will respond to service calls, perform troubleshooting and maintenance. Prior knowledge of mechanical parking structures is not required, but past experience should provide a foundation for success.
You must be comfortable working with a variety of subcontractors on construction sites, as well as interacting with residents at the installation properties.
Communication and real-time problem solving are essential. Friendly demeanor with all customers is essential to this position.
This is a contract role and may be eligible for direct hire.
Responsibilities :
- Understand all elements of semi and fully-automated parking systems
- Troubleshoot, repair, install parking system components
- Implement tests to ensure all components are working correctly
- Educating clients on how to use and maintain parking system
- Perform maintenance and provide customer support
- Diagnose problems and come up with solutions to repair them
- Order parts needed for repairs if needed
- Fill out detailed reports and keep records on services that have been performed
- Explain issues with equipment and repairs to customers
- Build and maintain relationships with customers
- On call required : The Site Technician will respond to user / building management requests for service ASAP.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
- At least 2 years of experience servicing mechanical and / or electrical equipment
- Automobile, motorcycle, or aviation mechanic experience or similar is valid
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical wiring diagrams as needed
- Ability to work flexible hours and work around a changing schedule
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and diagnostic skills
- Working knowledge of the tools and equipment needed for the job
- Experience with basic mechanical hand tools, multimeter, etc.
- Ability to work independently without much supervision
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which include bending, lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to effectively manage time
