Job Summary

The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for planning, implementing, overseeing, and maintaining network infrastructure, physical and virtual server environment, business continuity infrastructure, and storage area networks.

Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to :

  • Design, install and configure switches including, but not limited to vlans, routing, lldp, stp, and network access control.
  • Design, install, and configure next generation firewalls including, but not limited to IDS / IPS / DPI policy creation and maintenance, vlans, dynamic routing, IPSec VPNs, and certificates.
  • Assist with IP phone system MAC, server maintenance, and configuration and maintenance of other network devices.
  • Administer and support core Microsoft, Fortinet, and VMware technologies.
  • Managing deployments / rollouts of new hardware and / or software.
  • Assist with administration and configuration of Windows Server platforms and services, including but not limited to : IIS, Remote Desktop Services, SQL Server.
  • Assist with Microsoft 365 administration and configuration, including but not limited to : Entra ID, Azure, Intune, Defender, Exchange Online, and Teams.
  • Design and implement monitoring, configuration management and reporting functions that will contribute to a hands-off environment.
  • Provide after-hours support for end-user support, infrastructure related emergencies, and occasional weekend maintenance.
  • Configure and maintain business continuity infrastructure.
  • Monitor backup and replication jobs, execute restore jobs, troubleshoot failed jobs, and initiate corrective action.
  • Conduct annual business continuity simulations and document results.
  • Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation.
  • Support and maintain storage area network environment, including iSCSI switching environment.
  • Assist with hardware, firewall, telecom, and software vendor evaluation.
  • Mentor / cross train team members on existing and new technologies.
  • Provide end user technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware, and document results.
  • Carry out special tasks at management's direction.
  • Interact with customers and staff at the technical level, as required.

Skills and Abilities Required to Perform Essential Job Functions :

  • Advanced knowledge of next generation firewalls.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server and contemporaneous updates / desktop Operating Systems Windows.
  • Knowledge of Windows group policy infrastructure.
  • Managing server virtualization technologies such as VMWare Server / ESX or Microsoft Hyper-V / Virtual Server.
  • A solid understanding of LAN / WAN networking.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network issues including back bone infrastructure issues.
  • LAN Routing and Switching design, configuration, and troubleshooting (VLANs, IP Subnetting, 802.1Q trunks, dynamic routing protocols).
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Must be organized and can manage projects of varying length.
  • Positive, self-motivated, HANDS-ON individual who can complete tasks independently.
  • Education, Experience and Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree is required; however, 5 or more years of directly related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • CCNA or Fortinet NSE Certification or equivalent experience required.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a like position required.
  • Physical Requirements of Essential Job Functions :

    The associate is frequently required to sit and / or stand, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects, tools or controls that are typical of an office / bank environment. Lifting items weighting up to 10 pounds on a consistent basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 80% of the work period while operating equipment such as computers, phones, calculators, etc.
