Job Summary :

The Companion Aide provides companionship and assistance to clients in their homes or designated care environments. The ideal candidate will possess a warm and friendly demeanor, strong interpersonal skills, and a genuine desire to help others. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, enhancing their quality of life, and ensuring their comfort and safety.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including but not limited to, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and medication reminders.
  • Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
  • Help clients with mobility, transfers, and orientation within their living space.
  • Monitor clients’ physical and emotional conditions and report any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by following hygiene and safety protocols.
  • Document services provided and progress notes as required by organization policies.
  • Build trusting relationships with clients and their families, ensuring open communication.
  • Adhere to confidentiality and respect clients' privacy and dignity.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance caregiving skills.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (CNA, HHA, etc.) are a plus.
  • Previous experience in a caregiving role or in a similar position is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a compassionate nature.
  • Ability to follow care plans and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license, if applicable.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift and support clients as needed, which may include transporting them or assisting with mobility.
  • Capability to perform light housekeeping tasks and cooking.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and engage in physical activities for extended periods.
