Qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include :
- BLS for Healthcare Provider upon hire
- Oncology experience required
- Two (2) years of experience within the last three years required
- BSN preferred
- Oncology Certification (OCN) preferred
Department / Unit Summary
The RN utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care of acute patients from admission to the department through discharge or transfer.
Provides expert care and education to patients in the chemotherapy / infusion setting, acts as a patient advocate, leader, and mentor for assistive personnel.
The RN is knowledgeable in all areas of oncologic nursing with expertise in delivery of chemotherapeutic and biologic agents.
