The Audiologist provides a full range of audiological services, including evaluation of the peripheral and central auditory systems as well as the vestibular system;
plans and implements habilitative / rehabilitative measures and / or interventions as appropriate.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire : License or provisional license in the State of Virginia as an Audiologist and Hearing Aid Dealer required Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment : Current licensure as an Audiologist and Hearing Aid Dealer required within 90 days of employment Current CC-A certification preferred Experience REQUIRED : No work experience required entry level Experience PREFERRED : One (1) year of work experience following certification preferably in an outpatient setting Education / training REQUIRED : Masters Degree in Audiology from an accredited program Education / training PREFERRED : Doctoral Degree in Audiology (AuD or PhD) from an accredited program Independent action(s) required : Provides patient care and diagnostic testing within license scope following physicians’ orders.
Recommends appropriate cochlear implant / hearing aid options based on testing and patient preference. Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable) : N / A Additional position requirements : Works in both MCVH and MCVP clinics as directed by supervisor.
