Job Details
- A hospital near Sacramento is looking for experienced Cardiac Telemetry nurses for a travel contract.
- The right candidate will have 2 years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIH and CA License.
- Modules are required done before start. Modules take 3-4 hours -not billable
- Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years).
- Managers will make the final call on scheduling.
- Unit : 4T Cardiac Tele
- Certs : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. Prefer experience pulling sheaths.
- Ratios : 1 : 4
- EMR : Cerner. Have WOWS now. Will be getting computers in each patient room.
- Shift starts 645. Report is at the bedside.
- Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it.
- Schedules are out 4 weeks.
- Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves "available" for extra shifts and make trades with other staff.
- Floor specific orientation : 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor.
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients : Cardiac dx, post CABG, post AVR / MVR, pre and post cardiac cath intervention.

Schedule Information
- Work 2 of the 3 major holidays
- 12 hr shifts
- Every other weekend requirement
- Rotate in with core staff on holidays
- First to Float
Unit Specific Information
of beds : 30
- Charge Nurse : Yes, generally does not take patients, but will do break relief.
- Nurse Aides : Yes as census and staffing dictates.
- Tele : Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.
- Vents : No
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house
- IV Team : No
- RT 24 / 7
- Pharmacy 24 / 7
- Floating : All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen.

- Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed
- Prior to acceptance, the DYS EXAM (BASIC) THROUGH UNA IS REQUIRED
