Overview

This position will support all components of the quarterly rebate submission process for Value Based Commercial, Medicare Advantage, Provider and Group Purchasing Organization Rebate Agreements encompassing receipt of invoices & reports, claims & data validation, confirmation of payment amounts and data analysis across the company portfolio of products.

The candidate should be familiar with and able to discuss different segments of market access and be fully versed in all stages of rebate processing and understand the various types of managed care contracting.

The position reports to the Associate Director, Contracting Data Analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Function as a rebate data subject matter expert processing Commercial, Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part B invoices, Provider, Group Purchasing Organization and value-based data reports and invoices in alignment with established systems, financial reconciliation, and processes to confirm intended payment of the invoice and produce accurate and timely rebate payments and reports.
  • Establish cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders including legal, pricing and strategy, government pricing, and finance to ensure the agreements are operational, functional, and potential contract language concerns and impacts are addressed (i.

  • Clear, concise, and well-organized written and verbal communications to resolve data issues, discuss utilization and payment discrepancies and customer rebate payment inquiries.
  • Present issues in a timely manner and discuss solutions in a group setting, initiate and drive process improvement opportunities while maintaining associated documentation.
  • Provide data analysis, and support as needed for cross-functional activities such as forecasting and planning or contract renewal decisions.
  • Establish and maintain policies and applicable documentation in accordance with established departmental guidelines ensuring SoX compliance.
  • Act as liaison between Alnylam Market Access and third-party data aggregator by applying expert knowledge of existing processes, system functionality and capabilities to identify potential system solutions for data aggregation, develop dashboard metrics and drive process improvements.
  • Technical owner of data transfer process (Boomi, firewall) with third-party data aggregator.
  • Perform new customer set up for payments to be processed in collaboration with Accounts Payable.
  • Deliver and present data analytics and reporting to internal stakeholders on a quarterly cadence and ad-hoc.
  • Able to manage multiple projects concurrently and maintain organization among various projects and work streams.
  • Provide and implement innovative solutions to continuously enhance quarterly rebate process efficiencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is required, advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry including at least 3 years in pharmaceutical pricing, contracting or finance.
  • Experience should include strong understanding of Managed Care, Medicare Part B, GPO, PBM and other payer segments.
  • Strong analytical skills related to pharmaceutical product pricing, discounts, and rebate analysis.
  • Understanding of key Payer and customer segments relevant to brand products and the US Reimbursement System across major payer segments (Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid, Federal).
  • Ability to analyze and create custom reports.
  • Creative thinker - able to identify, develop, and recommend process improvements.
  • Strong communications skills to engage senior leadership and present recommendations for approval and support to execute.
  • Attention to detail; probes skillfully to get at the facts.
  • Competent with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Excellent communication, written, and verbal skills.
  • The position will be based in the corporate home offices located in Cambridge, MA.
