Position Summary This position requires a highly organized individual who possesses strong initiative and has the ability to complete multiple projects in a deadline driven environment.
This individual must be able to communicate effectively and understand how to build and grow a tax practice. They must be highly motivated and technically sound in the latest tax practices.
They should be open to being compensated based on tax business growth. Job Essentials, Responsibilities, Duties Preparation and review of complex income tax returns including but not limited to Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships, annual business, exempt organization, and Individual returns Assist in quality control review of tax returns Assist in the review and oversight over the preparation of quarterly tax projections and communication of required estimated tax payments Assist in the oversight and review of year-end shareholder bonus process Maintenance and adherence to financial and tax reporting policies and procedures Assign, track and manage tasks and projects to Tax Staff Assist in review and oversight over the reporting of 1099's Preparation and review of tax correspondence and facilitation and oversight over tax audits and tax notices Facilitation of entity creation and dissolution procedures including attainment of Articles of Incorporation, organizational documents, FEIN applications and 2553s Assist team with tax software questions Assist in review of all annual reports, franchise tax returns and other state returns Assist in client invoicing for tax services performed Professional Responsibilities Review and prepare individual, corporate, partnership tax returns.
Limited number of trust and non-profit returns. Identify applicable tax issues and planning opportunities, assist with implementation Review and respond to IRS and state & local tax notices, audits Perform and supervise accounting write-up / prepared financial statements Comprehensive year-end tax planning Supervise, train, and review work of other team members (tax and accounting) Learn various aspects of the music industry, athlete taxation, and various other small business clients Assign, track and manage tasks and projects to Tax Staff Assist in review and oversight over the reporting of 1099's Preparation and review of tax correspondence and facilitation and oversight over tax audits and tax notices Business Development Responsibilities Able to bring a book of business to the firm to grow the tax business Ability to meet with potential clients and pitch tax preparation and planning services Participate in professional associations to further develop and connect with other tax professionals Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in accounting, a strong grasp of accounting, tax law and financial statement concepts In-depth knowledge and experience with tax return concepts for Individuals, S Corporations, C Corporations, LLC's, Partnership's Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues (tax and financial), perform research, demonstrate critical thinking necessary to implement advice and planning Strong software skills, including proficient in Excel, experience with QuickBooks Online Ability to interact and effectively manage communication with clients (written, verbal, and in-person) Ability to handle multiple priorities, clients, and tight deadlines as part of a team Salary is negotiable.
