Job Summary : We are seekinga skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer with a ProfessionalEngineer (PE) license to join our team in Lafayette.
The successfulcandidate will be responsible for designing and overseeing theelectrical systems fire alarms and other related infrastructure forschool buildings.
This role requires a deep understanding ofelectrical engineering principles strong problemsolving abilitiesand a commitment to ensuring safety and compliance with allrelevant standards.
KeyResponsibilities :
- Designand Development :
- Create detailedelectrical system designs for school buildings including powerdistribution lighting and control systems.
- Develop and implement fire alarm systems ensuringcompliance with safety regulations and standards.
- ProjectManagement :
- Oversee the installationand maintenance of electrical systems and fire alarms in schoolfacilities.
- Coordinate with architectsconstruction managers and other engineering disciplines to ensureseamless integration of electrical systems.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure the quality andadherence to design specifications.
- Compliance and Safety :
- Ensure all designs and installations meetlocal state and federal codes and regulations.
- Implement best practices for safety and efficiency inelectrical system design and installation.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations formitigating potential hazards.
- Documentation and Reporting :
- Prepare and maintain comprehensivedocumentation of electrical designs project plans and inspectionreports.
- Provide regular updates tostakeholders on project progress challenges andsolutions.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering ora related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE)license is required.
- Minimum of 5 years ofexperience in electrical engineering with a focus on designingsystems for educational or similar facilities.
- Proficiency in electrical design software andtools.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codesstandards and regulations.
- Excellentproblemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with theability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
