Key Responsibilities :
- Inpatient Care : Oversee and perform sterile and hazardous pounding per hospital policies and USP standards. Verify prescriber orders and collaborate directly with medical staff to ensure safe and effective medication use.
- Outpatient Care : Dispense medications safely and accurately, maintaining pliance with all state and federal regulations.
Provide patient counseling and education on proper medication use and address medication-related inquiries.
- Supervise and guide pharmacy technicians, ensuring pliance with NYS Board of Pharmacy regulations and departmental standards.
- Manage and secure medication inventories, including controlled substances, and ensure accurate documentation of all pharmacy activities.
- Engage directly with patients to obtain medication histories and provide prehensive medication counseling.
What Were Looking For :
- Educational Requirements : 5-year degree in Pharmacy or PharmD is required. Must maintain all continuing education requirements as mandated by the New York State Board of Pharmacy.
- Licensure : Current and active New York State pharmacy license is required.
- Experience : At least one year of experience as a registered pharmacist is preferred, with skills in pounding, dispensing, and supervising pharmacy staff.
- Skills : Strong adaptability, clinical judgment, excellent munication, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Physical & Environmental Requirements :
- Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. occasionally, and up to 20 lbs. frequently.
- Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures, vibrations, and chemical hazards.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
