Do you love working with animals and want to be part of a compassionate, hands-on veterinary team? We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to help provide excellent care for our patients and boarding guests. This role is vital in ensuring the health, comfort, and safety of animals while supporting our veterinary staff and delivering outstanding service to clients.

Some of the responsibilities you will own in this role :

  • Provide daily care for all hospitalized and boarding animals.
  • Observe and promptly report signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior to technicians and / or veterinarians.
  • Ensure proper feeding, including special diets when required.
  • Assist with check-in and discharge of boarding / visiting animals.
  • Walk dogs at least three times daily for exercise and potty breaks.
  • Ensure cages, kennels, and runs are properly labeled and personal belongings (food, toys, bedding) are organized.
  • Maintain clean and safe facilities : pick up hospital grounds, clean cages, kennels, and runs, wash bowls, and manage laundry.
  • Handle and restrain animals as needed, including those that may be difficult to control.
  • Perform basic grooming, such as bathing, nail trims, and ear cleaning.
  • Educate clients on animal care as directed by staff.
  • Greet clients warmly, using both their name and their pet’s name.

  • Genuine love for animals and a strong desire to provide excellent care.
  • Ability to safely handle animals of all sizes, temperaments, and species.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and organization.
  • Physical ability to walk dogs, lift supplies, and perform cleaning duties.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and strong communication skills with both clients and team members.
  • Previous experience working with animals (preferred, but not required).
