Pathways Nursing and Rehabilitation Center -
Pathways Nursing and Rehabilitation is currently looking for a Part Time Porter / Floor keeping. This is a 3 day a week position EVERY WEEKEND and requires prior experience in floor care.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Housekeeper / Porter is directly responsible to the Director of Housekeeping Services for cleanliness of assigned area, care of assigned tools and materials, proper use of all soaps, powders, waxes and other janitorial supplies and neat personal appearance.
- Keep Porter's / Housekeepers closet in good order and latched at all times.
- Move furniture, equipment and supplies
- Requests supplies as needed and maintains all materials in properly labeled containers.
2. QUALIFICATIONS
Housekeeping / porter Services employees should have the ability to communicate by understanding simple instructions given either orally or in writing.
- Read and understand porter / housekeeper "schedule and daily "
- Understand instructions of supervisors during training and instructions for on the-job
- Be physically able to perform the required duties of porter / housekeeper.
- Understand and know techniques of mopping, sweeping, polishing, high dusting
- Understand and know techniques of floor care and know the mechanical operation, use and maintenance of floor machines and other equipment, if necessary for job ·
- Understand and know techniques of vacuuming, wall dusting, wall spotting and wall
- Understand and know the correct cleaning procedures of public areas and toilet
- Understand and know the correct cleaning procedures for cleaning carpet spots and carpet
- Understand and know the correct cleaning procedures for cleaning of office areas and special equipment rooms.
- Understand and know procedures for cleaning rooms for check-out and new admission.
- Will assume other job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Housekeeping Services.
DAILY
Each porter / housekeeper is responsible for the cleanliness and appearance of his / her floor. Their duties are as listed :
- Collecting and disposing of garbage and replacing
- Dust mop and / or vacuum all rooms,"nursing stations, medication room, day room, halls
- Using equipment and disinfectant solutions selected by the facility, clean bathrooms, toilets, sinks, pipes, mirrors, handrails and walls.
Supply hand towels, toilet paper, refill soap dispensers and mop floors with detergent and disinfectant.
- Damp mop all rooms using a detergent
- Transport garbage to the dumpster
- Spot clean walls in rooms and corridors as needed
- Clean wardrobe doors and bedside
- Clean beds according to schedules and with disinfectant solutions selected
- Clean resident shower rooms.
4.WEEKLY
- High dust
- Clean vents and IL Damp wipe all doors, doorknobs, switch plates, etc.
- Sweep elevator thresholds and report to Director of Housekeeping Services if they have to be
- Dust window sills and mini-blinds.
- Iftime is available, buff rooms that look
3. USE OF PRODUCTS
- Porters / housekeepers will only use the products ordered for use by the Director of Housekeeping
- Porters / housekeepers will understand and know the various products, their uses or MSDS
- Products that are required to be diluted are done so with thetwist and fill procedure.
4. PHYSICAL FUNCTIONAL CAPABILITIES
Must have no physical limitations that would compromise ability to perfonn duties and must be able to :
