Position Overview :
As Sr. Director, Employee Relations, you will lead and manage the employee relations function within the organization, oversee the resolution of workplace conflicts, manage employee grievances, and support organizational change initiatives.
In addition, you will develop and implement strategies that promote positive employee relations, ensure compliance with employment laws, and foster a collaborative work environment.

This position is a hybrid role, on-site 3 days per week at one of the following office locations : Chevy Chase, MD; Dallas, TX;
Houston, TX; Fredericksburg, VA; Lakeland, FL; Tucson, AZ; Virginia Beach, VA
Key Responsibilities :
Strategic Leadership :
Develop and implement the employee relations strategy aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives.
Provide guidance and support to senior management on employee relations issues.
Foster a positive work environment through proactive employee relations programs.
Policy Development and Compliance :
Design and update employee relations policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Conduct regular reviews and audits of employee relations practices.
Conflict Resolution and Grievance Management :
Oversee the investigation and resolution of employee grievances and workplace conflicts.
Mediate disputes between employees and management.
Implement effective conflict resolution techniques and training.
Employee Engagement :
Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
Conduct employee surveys and feedback mechanisms to gauge workplace climate and address concerns.
Promote a culture of open communication and feedback.
Training and Development :
Design and deliver training programs on employee relations, conflict resolution, and compliance.
Provide coaching and support to managers on handling employee relations issues.
Ensure continuous professional development for the employee relations team.
Performance Management :
Support the performance management process by addressing performance issues and facilitating discussions.
Provide guidance on disciplinary actions and terminations.
Ensure fair and consistent application of performance management practices.
Organizational Change and Development :
Support organizational change initiatives by managing the employee relations impact.
Facilitate effective communication and transition during mergers, acquisitions, or restructures.
Promote best practices in change management and employee relations.
Reporting and Analytics :
Develop and maintain metrics to assess the effectiveness of employee relations programs.
Prepare reports and presentations for senior management.
Use data to identify trends and make informed decisions.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; JD / law degree preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in employee relations, investigations, human resources, or related field.
Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
Excellent conflict resolution and mediation skills.
Proven ability to develop and implement employee relations strategies.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is a plus.
