About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty : Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : 19 : 00-07 : 00 Guaranteed Hours : Please insert if applicable Experience : Minimum of 1 year License : RN License Certifications : PALS, ACLS Must-Have : - PICU / NICU experience- Knowledge of vents, central lines, chest tubes- Knowledge of neuro patients and sedation drips (e.
g., Fentanyl, Versed)- Experience with vasopressors (e.g., Epi, Norepi, dopamine, vasopressin)- Experience with internal transportation Job Description : Unit Details : 14 beds with patient ratios of 1 : 2 or 1 : 1 depending on patient needs.
- Staffing : Includes a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (charge nurse) each shift and PCPs.- Equipment : Alaris pumps, ventilators, kangaroo pumps.
- Documentation : Epic system.- Scheduling Requirements : Float within the children's hospital.- Advanced Skills Needed : Ventilator management, sedation management, vasopressor management, management of level 1 trauma patients, management of ICP monitors.
- Procedures : ICP monitor placement, central venous line (CVL), arterial line (ART line), chest tube placement, lumbar punctures (LPs), intubation, moderate sedation, and traction.
- Dress Code : Pediatric-friendly scrub top with royal blue, black, or white scrub pants. Company t-shirts can be worn on Fridays.
- Hospital Features : Brand new children's hospital, Level 1 trauma center, neurosurgery, nephrology, endocrinology, and general pediatric surgery.
New equipment, CRRT, and pediatric transport team are available.- Community & Culture : Located in a city that boasts a historic district with museums and offers a blend of southern charm and unique vibe.
