Accounting Manager

Summary

Oversee the daily operations of the Accounts Payable team. Prepare general accounting journal entries and reconciliations each month.

Assist in the month-end and year-end close process where needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train Accounts Payable staff.
  • Review vendor invoices and remittances for accuracy.
  • Maintain AP aging to ensure timely payment.
  • Prepare, review and post entries as needed to keep the general ledger accurate, current and in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Perform month-end processes including preparing account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP.
  • Prepare and process ACH and Positive Pay files to the bank, weekly or as needed.
  • Export bank transaction files through FEDI and provide to Patient Accounts.
  • Assist with issue resolution and questions by staff and vendors.
  • Implement and recommend process improvements for AP procedures and policies in coordination with Controller.
  • Complete annual 1099 processing.
  • Assist with annual external audit requests.
  • Prepare periodic reports as requested
  • Perform all duties thoroughly, accurately and in accordance with company policy and GAAP.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education or Formal Training

Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration required.

Experience

  • Nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Two or more years supervisory experience required.
  • Minimum of four or more years general accounting and high-volume accounts payable experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must have knowledge of procedures relating to accounts payable, payroll and accounting.
  • Able to interact with company personnel, vendors, and other internal and external patties with team-based professionalism and courtesy.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and adhere to STRIDE policies and protocols.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Information management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Multiview experience or other accounting software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel (comfortable with functions such as Vlookup and pivot tables).

Working environment / physical activities :

Office environment within a clinical setting. Moves about the office environment and to other locations. Moves objects up to 25lbs and 50lbs occasionally.

Communicates information to others. Discerns / analyzes information from others to assist in decision making. Enters data into computer programs via computer, mouse, and keyboard.
