Job Description :

As a Deli Associate at Walmart, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers at the deli counter.

2. Customer Service :

3. Slicing and Portioning :

• Operate deli slicing equipment safely and efficiently to slice meats and cheeses to the desired thickness.
• Portion deli items according to customer preferences and portion control guidelines.
• Ensure that sliced products are neatly arranged and presented attractively in the deli display case.

4. Maintaining Cleanliness and Organization :

• Keep the deli area clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout the shift.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and work surfaces regularly to maintain food safety standards.
• Dispose of waste and empty trash bins as needed, following proper disposal procedures.

5. Product Knowledge and Upselling :

• Stay informed about current deli promotions, specials, and featured products.
• Recommend complementary items and upsell additional products to enhance the customer's shopping experience.
• Provide information about cooking instructions, ingredients, and nutritional content of deli items as requested by customers.

6. Team Collaboration :

• Work collaboratively with other deli associates and team members to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and managers to address any issues or concerns related to deli operations.

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in a deli or food service environment is desirable.
• Strong customer service skills with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to operate deli equipment such as slicers and scales safely and efficiently.
