Job Summary :
As the Software Engineering Manager for the DevOps Team, your role involves leading a team tasked with developing tools for creating and maintaining cloud infrastructure, automating the management of complex service-oriented applications, databases, and other tools, and constructing frameworks to ensure the stability and scalability of our client’s Private Cloud.
Job Responsibilities :
- Architect, construct, and maintain cloud infrastructure, leveraging automation and infrastructure-as-code principles
- Develop tools to enable self-service capabilities for development teams, enhance platform scalability and availability, and fortify security measures for our client's private cloud customers
- Collaborate with product developers to implement services following contemporary design paradigms
- Recruit, supervise, mentor, and expand a team of enthusiastic engineers
- Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with engineers, managers, and other stakeholders based on trust, empathy, and technical proficiency
Education & Experience
- Previous professional experience in a DevOps / SRE role
- Experience in constructing and managing highly available cloud infrastructure and services
- In-depth understanding of monitoring, logging, and observability platforms, along with a dedication to SLI and SLO best practices
- Experience overseeing production infrastructure / software, including 24 / 7 on-call duties
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Terraform, Helm, Vault, and Ansible
- Experience with containerization and utilizing container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or Nomad
- Experience developing CI / CD workflows
- Experience in team management, demonstrating leadership through influence
- Strong development experience in Go, Python, Bash, and / or other programming languages
- BS in engineering or relevant technical field
- Cloud Certification is advantageous
