Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties
Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall service satisfaction
Conduct routine venipuncture for plasmapheresis and collect donor samples
Respond and assist with donor reactions during the donation process
Monitor collection equipment to facilitate the health and safety of the donors
Set up, disconnect, and operate the plasmapheresis machine to include; troubleshooting, documentation, and evaluation of any message displays
Disconnect donors by removing the needle from the venipuncture site and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment into a biohazard container
Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of plasma autopheresis machines to include; daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly maintenance of all equipment in the donor floor area
Maintain equipment and work area cleanliness in between donors
Responsible for accurate documentation of collection records
Thorough knowledge of applicable Company and departmental policies and procedures as well as the willingness to learn and follow any policy or procedure that may be introduced in the future
Maintain an open line of communication with Management
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with donors, fellow employees, and vendors
Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner
Regular attendance and arriving on time to all scheduled shifts and mandatory meetings
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum one (1) year work experience preferred
License or certification where required by state
Requirements
Strong oral and written communication skills
Provide a pleasant customer service experience
Ability to read and interpret directions and instructions
Perform basic math calculations
Basic computer skills
Reasoning ability to identify, interpret and apply appropriate information
Physical Requirements
Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
Frequent leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching above the shoulders and below the knee
Manual dexterity to perform all phases of donor plasmapheresis
Ability to stand for extended periods of time for up to four (4) hours at a time
Ability to lift, tug, pull up to fifty (50) pounds
