Job Title : Licensed Vocational Nurse
Job Type : Part-time
Job Location : Human Nutrition Research Center USDA located at 430 West Health Sciences Dr, Davis, CA 95616.
Shift : 8 hours shift 2 weeks a month.
Requirement :
- Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Completion of an accredited vocational nursing program.
- Must be licensed in California, CPR certified.
- Proficiency in basic nursing care.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to provide compassionate care.
- Ability to handle physical demands.
- Adherence to ethical standards.
Duties :
- Monitor and chart notes on subjects' health problems using a narrative format.
- Dispense medications and / or dietary supplements and take verbal / telephone orders from the physician.
- Perform routine blood and urine sample processing. Administer qualitative tests on subjects' daily urine samples.
- Provide basic clinical care for research subjects.
- Monitor health, dispense medications, and chart data.
- Responsible for changing dressings, monitoring vital signs and administering medicines.
- Operating medical equipment with accuracy.
- Shall administer medications to patients as prescribed by a physician or other healthcare provider.
- Ensure that medical equipment and supplies are properly maintained and in good working order.
