Machine Technician (Maintenance Operator - KP) 1st Shift Full Time - Newbern, TN

This position starts at $23.80 / hr. with a shift increase for second and third shift and potential for overtime. We have open positions for first shift.

POSITION SUMMARY :

Set up equipment in preparation for startup, and responsible for operating case packer, while also being able to adhere to good safety practices, food safety policies, and company policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Set up equipment in preparation for startup, and responsible for the running the KP machines, while also adhering to good safety practices, food safety policies, and company policies.
• Set up V-Mag stuffer / grinder and KP machines.
• Move empty racks into position for loading and loading logs onto racks.
• Send out correct diameters of slicing logs to freezer.
• Chang film as needed.
• Identify and stripping out defective logs.
• Drain water from bottom of KP and inspecting equipment.
• Set up and breaking down grinders.
• Record condition of grinder plates on grinder inspection sheets and turning in to lead / supervisor.
• Inform QA and Production Supervisor in the event of issues with equipment / grinder or raw materials.
• Informs and assists Maintenance persons in identifying and correcting problems with machines.
• Performs PM’s on equipment in assigned Department.

REQUIREMENTS :

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

• Basic Math Skills and ability to become certified in Lock Out tag Out Program.
• Must be willing and able to work on and around machinery and chemicals.
• Must be willing and able to work in temperatures less than or equal to 35 degrees Fahrenheit temperature for minimum of 8 hours.
• Must be willing and able to lift / carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be willing and able to perform the following task for periods of 8 hours on concrete floor, some of which may include but is not limited to bending, twisting, reaching, standing, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting.
• Must be willing and able to pinch / grip product and place into specified location.

Must have 3 months previous work experience with a single employer within the past 18 months. Candidate must also have minimum of 6 months of maintenance or mechanical experience or equivalent training.
