We are seeking an experienced, professional, and personable Bookkeeper / Office Manager to join us at our facility at our headquarters in New Britian, Connecticut.

The Position :

The Bookkeeper / Office Manager is responsible for the day-to-day financial and office management of the business. Full-time or part-time employment will be considered but note that this is an onsite position only. Responsibilities include :

  • Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable functions (entering invoices into an industry-specific system. preparing weekly check run, invoicing clients, making collection calls on a routine basis, issuing past due notices and statements)
  • Handling credit requests and conduct credit references
  • Performing daily bank deposits as required
  • Completing weekly payroll and commissions
  • Performing general ledger and bank reconciliations
  • Interacting with supplier vendors
  • Working in conjunction with company accountant regarding government remittances and tax preparation
  • Preparing monthly and year-end financial reports
  • Assisting with budget preparation and monitoring
  • Overall general office duties including answering phones, ordering supplies, filing and data entry

About You :

  • You have a college degree and at least 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related
  • Some of your greatest strengths include organization, critical-thinking, and problem-solving
  • You are responsible, reliable, and have a hands-on commitment to getting the job done
  • You are a team player but can also work independently with minimal supervision
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • You are proficient with Microsoft Office, especially with Excel
  • You have a working knowledge of SAGE and willingness to learn new computer software programs
  • You are willing to work in office as this is not a remote position
