ZO Motors is seeking a Senior Process Engineer that will play a pivotal role in optimizing and improving manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
This individual will work within the automotive manufacturing environment, ensuring that production processes meet regulatory, safety, and environmental standards while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
The Senior Process Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement manufacturing strategies for new and existing products.
Essential Job Duties include
Process Development & Improvement :
- Develop, optimize, and refine manufacturing processes to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Conduct root cause analysis on process-related issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
New Product Launch Support :
- Work closely with the design, product development, and quality teams to ensure new products are manufacturable, scalable, and meet quality standards.
- Lead the introduction of new processes or modifications to existing processes to support product launches.
Process Validation & Documentation :
- Ensure processes are well-documented, controlled, and validated according to automotive industry standards.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing process documentation (e.g., process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, control plans, work instructions).
Continuous Improvement & Lean Initiatives :
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen projects.
- Implement best practices in manufacturing to reduce cycle time, improve first-pass yield, and enhance throughput.
Team Collaboration & Leadership :
Collaborate with maintenance, quality control, and production teams to ensure smooth operations and adherence to safety protocols.
Safety & Compliance :
- Ensure all processes comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations, as well as automotive industry standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks within manufacturing processes, promoting a culture of safety and accountability.
Equipment & Tooling :
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors for new tooling, equipment upgrades, and technology adoption.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend preventative maintenance strategies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in process engineering, with a focus on automotive manufacturing.
- Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive industry standards (e.g., ISO / TS 16949, IATF 16949).
Preferred Certifications
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Lean Manufacturing certification.
Work environment
- Primarily office-based, but frequent visits to the production floor are required.
- May occasionally require travel to suppliers, manufacturing integrators or other production sites.
