Job Summary :
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the implementation and management of all Food Safety, Food Quality, HACCP & SQF programs for the Rembrandt Iowa location & ensuring compliance with regulatory & customer requirements (USDA, FDA, SQF, etc.
This includes managing existing forms, policies, procedures & standard work and the creation of new material as needed.
This role verifies and validates food safety and food quality systems to ensure the systems are working as intended through the analysis of facility KPI’s, microbiological & analytical testing data & FSQA programs.
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible to facilitate regulatory, customer, GFSI & internal audits and the completion & corrective / preventive action for nonconformances.
This role manages a team of FSQA personnel and is responsible for the maintenance, frequency & effectiveness of FSQA, GMP, SQF, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities :
- Serves as the owner of all HACCP, Food Safety Plans, Food Quality Plans & SQF architecture for the site
- Leads the development, implementation, validation / verification and maintenance of HACCP & SQF
- Enforces site compliance to USDA, FDA, SQF, Kosher, Halal, American Humane & customer requirements
- Manages the pre-shipment review process to ensure all product specifications and FSQA activities are compliant across site, regulatory & customer requirements
- Manages the updating and / or creation of company FSQA policies & procedures, forms & standard work
- Facilitates the preparation & execution of site internal & external audits and resulting corrective & preventive actions
- Gauges effectiveness, determines frequency & maintains the content of site FSQA training materials
- Analyzes facility KPI, microbiological, analytical & production data to determine trends and communicates findings in food safety team meetings
- Manages and supports product recall, crisis management & food defense programs and verifies all relevant emergency contacts are up to date
- Participates in performance evaluation of staff and conducts coaching and counseling sessions to identify skill development needs
- Provide after hour assistance in resolutions to quality, safety & compliance issues
- Other duties or projects as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Required :
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 3 years of food manufacturing supervisory / management experience
- Experience with SQF or other GFSI scheme
- HACCP Certification
Preferred :
- PCQI & SQF Practitioner Certification
- Analytical / Microbiological laboratory experience
- Manufacturing experience in the meat and / or egg industry
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills : Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Word
