Job Overview
The Department of Biomedical Engineering invites applications for an immediate postdoctoral fellow position in Prof. Eric Nauman's group.
This will be an initial one-year appointment with an option to renew for another year contingent upon available funding and annual performance evaluation.
Essential Functions
- Developing testing methods to assess the performance of safety helmets.
- Developing high-fidelity finite element models for helmet impact processes.
- Working with other personnel in the project team.
- Writing technical reports.
- Publishing scholarly works in peer-reviewed journals.
- Assisting in research proposal development.
Required Education
Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering or science discipline.
Required Experience
- In-depth knowledge of specialized field, process or discipline.
- May require experience with specialized software programs.
Additional Qualifications Considered
- Experience in helmet design and simulation.
- Strong experimental skills in impact tests.
- Knowledge of traumatic brain injuries due to impact.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
