Heidelberg Materials is seeking a qualified Mechanic for our Lockport Shop facility located in Romeoville, IL.

The Mechanic will repair and maintain mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, such as bulldozers, front-end loaders, trucks, cranes, graders, crushers and conveyors used in quarry operations.

What You'll Get To Do

Safety and proficiently perform maintenance work as assigned, including mechanical, electrical on equipment, welding and cutting with torch.

Operate various types of Mobile Equipment

Maintain gas and diesel engines and related components on mobile equipment

Work on and trouble shoot pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.

Reading and interpretation of diagrams, prints, and schematics.

Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on equipment for an extended period of time until employee develops a good understanding of equipment.

Write part list for purchase orders using related manuals.

Proficiently use test and diagnostic equipment

This list is not all inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary for the efficient operation of the facility.

Some travel to Illinois and NWI plants will be required.

What We Are Looking For

Must possess a minimum high school diploma or GED. Additional technical training preferred.

Minimum 5 years heavy industrial mobile mechanical maintenance experience

Must be able to work at heights

Able to read, understand, and implement written instruction

Some welding experience desired

Open pit mining operations and aggregate products experience preferred

MSHA / OSHA training a plus
