Purpose of Position
Assigns and assists activities of personnel engaged in fabrication and assembly of structural, electromechanical, sheet metal and composite assemblies by performing the following duties
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Analyzes work orders and blueprints to determine information such as material to be used, type of operations and sequence of operations required.
- Interprets specification, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties and expedites workflow.
- Inspects work in progress and finished assemblies for exactness, neatness, operational performance to the engineering drawings for assigned tasks.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Establishes or adjusts resources to meet production schedules.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product. Participates in Lean activities when required and implements new processes.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel. Uses proper safety procedures and lock out / tag out processes.
Minimum Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum Experience
Minimum of eight years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and expertise for this level usually results from internal progressive experience.
However selection for this position is based on the demonstrated ability of the person to successfully fulfill the requirements listed.
Not automatic progression availability of position is based on work needs.
