Experience : Minimum one year of nursing experience
License : Registered Nurse license in the state of North Carolina
Certifications :
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
- Preferred : Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Must-Have : Nursing Diploma or ADN / ASN from an accredited school of Nursing
Job Description :
- Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.
- Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting.
- Participate in identifying and meeting personal learning needs and attend relevant education programs.
- Use patient education materials and assess the readiness to learn of patients, families, and caregivers.
- Evaluate care by identifying expected patient outcomes and seeking guidance as needed.
- Cooperate with interdisciplinary teams in evaluating patient care and communicating relevant information to ensure continuity of care.
- Demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex problems, addressing their physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
- Consult with necessary resources regarding patients with complex care issues.
- Develop goals for professional growth and participate in unit goals and performance improvement activities.
- Be knowledgeable about activities that facilitate collaboration within and between departments.
- Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment for all.
- Recognize and assess data from complex situations to determine care priorities and anticipate discharge needs.
- Develop relationships with families to promote advocacy for the patient and their needs.
- Collaborate with patients and families to prepare or update care plans and address cultural and ethnic issues.
- Read journals with studies or articles applicable to practice and bring ideas and questions to the staff for evaluation.
