  • Assignment Type : Travel RN – Cardiac Stepdown (PCU)\n
  • Location : Plattsburgh, NY 12901 (New York nursing jobs)\n
  • Start Date : November 17, 2025\n
  • End Date : March 8, 2026\n
  • Duration : 16 weeks (option to extend up to 32 weeks)\n
  • Shift : 12-hour nights\n
  • Hours per Week : 36\n
  • Estimated Weekly Pay : $2100 - $2250\n
  • Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend\n
  • Holiday Requirement : Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas / Christmas Eve, New Year's Day / Eve)\n
  • Floating : Required to float to appropriate units as part of the Resource Float team\n
  • Documentation System : EPIC\n
  • Dress Code : Navy blue or white scrubs, closed-toe nonskid shoes\n

    • \n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n \n

  • Active New York RN license (or proof of application with applied date)\n
  • Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in Progressive Care, Stepdown, or Telemetry nursing\n
  • At least 1 year of experience caring for cardiac stepdown patients\n
  • Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications\n
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (must be obtained prior to start)\n
  • EPIC charting experience within the past 2 years (required)\n
  • Proficient with insulin drips, cardiac drips, IV starts, and post-cardiac catheterization care\n
  • Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (public transportation not available)\n
  • Ability to work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays\n

    • \n\nCardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities\n \n

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with acute cardiac and progressive care needs\n
  • Monitor and manage patients with acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, post-PTCA / stent, and other cardiac conditions\n
  • Administer and titrate cardiac and insulin drips, providing advanced monitoring and frequent observation\n
  • Start IVs, perform venipuncture, and manage post-cardiac catheterization patients\n
  • Document patient care using EPIC and adhere to all unit protocols and procedures\n
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including respiratory and anesthesia support available 24 / 7\n
  • Float to other appropriate units as needed to support patient care across the facility\n
  • Maintain professional appearance and comply with dress code and safety standards\n
