JOB SUMMARY
The Compliance Specialist will collaborate with the Compliance Team and Quality / Compliance Manager to develop procedures, policies, and best practices that ensure the company operates within legal and ethical guidelines.
They will serve as the primary contact for the Sales team on compliance questions, assist in reviewing purchase orders, and advise on necessary steps, documents, or provide verbiage to answer customer questions.
Additionally, they will work with the Compliance team to handle customer surveys, documentation requests, and support the customer compliance process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Partner with the Sales team on the review of purchase orders and ensure we can meet the requirements of the customer.
- Oversee the collection and development of necessary documents for compliance with federal, state, and international regulations as required by customer specifics.
- Be a resource to help educate customers on Olander’s compliance capabilities in order to find common ground and process their order timely.
- The role is responsible for the management of all environmental product compliance (EPC) requests for REACH, RoHS, Proposition 65, Conflict Minerals, and other such product regulations.
- Provide ongoing support to Quality Manager in meeting ISO 9001 standards through our Quality Management System and processes.
- Assist in identifying gaps in documentation, or potential areas of non-compliance, and suggests resolutions.
- Operate with some latitude for independent action or decision, and review progress with management.
- Report observations / problems clearly and concisely and take appropriate actions.
- Possess and apply a broad knowledge and understanding of the regulatory and legal frameworks, regulatory requirements, legislation, processes, and procedures.
- Assist in Standard Operating Procedures development and review.
- Assist in the development and update of strategy based upon regulation and standard changes.
- Demonstrate understanding and ability to investigate and evaluate updates and new regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Education : bachelor’s degree or Minimum of 3 years of Compliance experience
- Proficient with MS Office tools (ERP experience is a plus)
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to identify and proactively manage and resolve problems.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to build, work and interact with suppliers, customers and employees while demonstrating tact, sensitivity, discretion, and professionalism.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Requires extended periods of sitting.
- Able to read documents, computer screens, and make entries into the software system.

SALARY RANGE :
$65,000 - $80,000 (annual base pay) depending on experience. Olander complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and determines compensation based on candidate’s qualifications, education, skill set, experience, and internal equity.
