Medical Assistant
Shifts Available : Days- 8 hours. 40 hours / week-Hours / Days : 8 - 4 : 30pm; Monday - Friday-Location : Onsite, Pleasanton, CADuties and ResponsibilitiesKnows the procedure for stereotactic / biopsy exams to manage the coordination process in an effective, timely manner.
Schedules callbacks, biopsies, stereotactic exams, and needle localization which includes coordinating with surgery and radiologist schedules.
Review patient instructions for biopsies pre and post-with patient. Blocks and or / reschedule patient time on the schedule for procedures done in the office.
Assists technologist with stereotactic exam and helps with patient needs during the exam. Cleans and disinfects exam table, equipment, and room.
Operates all equipment necessary for the job and keeps in good working order, calling for service when necessary. Maintains record management : transcribing and linking appointments to patient orders.
Accurately processes and tracks images that are acquired including ordering of priors and tracking pending priors. Tracks images in Epic and GE PACS.
Checking to make sure images are uploaded correctly which includes merging. Assists Nurse Navigator with tracking information.
Ensures the daily review of the email system for department communications. Participates in department in-service programs.
Performs education modules monthly and HealthStream education when due.Assists with inventory and replacement of supplies by ordering or notifying the supervisor.
Attends huddles and mandatory in-service meetings. Accepts assignment of other duties as needed and receives training and / or orientation.
Education QualificationsAssociate's Degree PreferredLicenses and CertificationsBLS - Basic Life SupportExperience2+ years of medical office experience (required) Experience in women's imaging / mammography preferredEpic EHR System experience preferredScheduling experience preferred
